Testing out bag and pad, and Gear List/Tentative Schedule is posted!

I slept in my sleeping bag and on my sleeping pad for the first time last night!  WOW!  Its soooooo comfy!  For my sleeping bag I have a Big Agnes Peggy SL (size "petite", 15 degree down), and I'm using the Stoic LTWT Step Sleeping Pad which is self inflating.  WIN!

moving out...

As much as I hate to do it, since I live in such an AWESOME place, I'm moving out of my house in Nu'uanu Valley.  Since I'll be gone for 5 months it would be silly to pay rent somewhere that I'm not even living at.

This really bums me out, as the location of my house is so incredibly EPIC.  I hope, by some weird twist of fate, when I return, my room will be available again.

Meanwhile, I have 2 days to get ALL MY CRAP out of here.  Uuuuuuugh.  Here we go again.....

Anyone with a truck or 4-door vehicle with a flat room wanna help me move some stuff? :)

my new tent, and seam-sealing it

I set my tent up for the first time today, and I seam-sealed it (waterproofing where all the stitches are).  Heres a video of my tent and my process.

Cast off, game ON!!!!

So for those of you that don't know, I fractured my tibia 6 weeks ago and have been in a cast since. That was super lame and not fun.

I just cut my cast off right now and I can WALK again!!!! Yaaaaay!! My left calf is smaller than my right calf. Lol! Oops.

Oh my gosh it feels sooooooo nice to not have a cast on my friggin leg!! I can actually *do* stuff now!!!! Haha. Yippee!!!!

So, through the PCT Class of 2012 Facebook Group, I have been "meeting" a lot of other people from the USA and abroad who will also be hiking this year.  A fellow thru-hiker from Germany, who like myself, is a bit eccentric and nutty named Pekka Schmidts, was asking why he was not mentioned in my blog.  Pekka seems like pretty good ninja material.  Perhaps if our paths cross, I will have to initiate him into my Society of Ostentatious Ninjas.  But I'll let Butterstuff make that call.

So Pekka, here ya go buddy.  This post is for you.  I truly hope that I meet you on the trail, so we can swordfight in our respective combat suits, and LARP on top of Mt.Whitney!

Tryin' to figure out this whole blog design thing...

Well, I don't consider myself an extraordinarily computer savvy individual, yet I am not completely technologically archaic either.  Its taken me the better part of this evening to figure out this whole blog thing.  At least the visual part of it.

I'm trying to get this so that everything is all set up for me to blog from my iPhone.  This whole html crap is not easy.  Lol.  Or perhaps its just because its 5am...
