What is the PCT?

What is the PCT?

The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) is a 2,650 mile long-distance mountain hiking and equestrian trail closely aligned with the highest portion of the Sierra Nevada and Cascade Range, which lie 100 to 150 miles east of the U.S. Pacific coast. The trail's southern terminus is on the U.S. border with Mexico, and its northern terminus is in British Columbia, Canada; its corridor through the U.S. is in the states of California, Oregon, and Washington..  Check out this really cool map of the whole trail!

On April 19th, I will be amongst about 400 other people who will attempt a through-hike (from start to end, in one trip).  Traditionally, about a 50-60% actually complete it.  I don't plan on stopping until I reach Manning Park, Britsh Columbia, Canada on or before October 2nd. :)

Click on the Pacific Crest Trail Association for more information about the trail.
