Day 132: attempting to haul ass

Tuesday 8/28/12
Miles 1726-1750 (24 miles)
Elevation 5,040'

Oregon isn't particularly scenic, thus far. I mean, we are amongst trees so of course it's beautiful, but it's not like NorCal where every corner was a jaw dropping view. But that's ok with me, since I can now concentrate on making miles instead of looking around and tripping on rocks. Lol! Especially walking in the 5 finger shoes, i cant take my eyes off the trail, because everytime i do i trip and fall. Lol. So when i want to look around, i have to stop. That seriously impedes forward progress. Lol. Plus, the terrain in Oregon is a lot flatter and easier than anything we've done so far. Hence we were still able to to 24 miles today even though we didnt start walking til 10am. Lol!

We ended up camping at Hyatt Lake, which was amazing. It's actually a resort with a developed campground, and they have a hiker/PCT camp area. It was amazing! There was a picnic table!! And bathrooms! With flush toilets and electricity!! And showers!! This is probably the nicest campground I've ever been to. Lol. They even had hot water in the sink! As well as hand dryers! I spent a lot of time in the bathroom with my hands under the hand dryer. It was cold outside! Cuz we didn't get to camp til 9pm. And it was dark. And cold. And the hand dryers were oh so warm!! :)
